Are you aware?

Are you aware that any time a building is renovated or demolished, there is a risk of asbestos or lead exposure? New York State and Federal Laws require you to test prior to demolition or renovation of any building. The building or home owner must properly assess and manage the potential presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based paints (LBP) prior to renovation or demolition.

Did you know?

Failure to account for the proper removal of ACM or LBP can result in significant fines and project delays. Without proper planning, asbestos removal can significantly increase project schedules and budgets. Qualtek Testing Group helps organizations determine the potential impacts of ACM, LBP and other hazards, prior to renovations, demolitions, or property purchases.

Don’t risk your health, your family’s, or anyone else’s health. If you suspect asbestos, call Qualtek Testing Group for immediate asbestos testing at 315-329-4271.

Asbestos Testing

The most dangerous asbestos fibers are too small to be seen.

Asbestos is a material that was (and still is) used around the world in many applications, including fireproofing, soundproofing, and insulation, roofing, flooring, floor tiles, ceiling tiles, plaster, caulk, glazing, mastic, drywall/gypsum board and many more common building materials. Despite its effectiveness and low cost to manufacture, asbestos has fallen out of favor due to health concerns that include lung cancer and mesothelioma.

Lead Based Paint Testing

Lead Poisoning is the #1 preventable childhood disease in the United States

Children can easily ingest household lead because it can be present all around them — in paint chips, tap water, dust and the soil. The younger the child, the more damage lead poisoning can do. If the source of the lead is not determined and removed, the poisoning will continue. Qualtek’s lead inspectors are licensed, certified and have over 20 years of experience.
